A New Creation....

I participate in the $5 Quilt Club at the LQS here, & our round came to an end last month, so it was time to creat a top using some, or all, of the blocks we made during this latest round. Awhile back I purchased an interesting quilt book, called "Beyond the Block" & that was my inspiration for this top. I have a border to add, & a plan for that, but here is the finished top....I really enjoyed making this one, but was kind of a rush job this past week, as I had no idea it would take so long, but it was worth it!

Blocks for another project...

Started on some Dear Jane blocks, this have a raw finish of 5 inches, & will be 4.5 when added to a quilt. So far, I have done 8, a mixture of applique, & machine quilting, so far. I don't want to do a whole DJ quilt, per say, but some of the blocks I find interesting & challenging, so here are my first ones, all 8 of them...

Once again, it's been awhile, so here's the latest...

Just playing...

Been working on some new blocks, from a few other books & having fun with the whole process. Have some Dear Jane ones done now, that are 5in, raw finish. Then tried one out of a new book & it says 6in finished, but my first one came out much smaller, so will have to play with more of them & see. I am wondering if they mean 6in. raw finish, book doesn't really say, oh well, still like them anyway! Then, I started, last night, playing with some Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks, have two done now, & love them! Saw a recent quilt, using just these blocks, no sashing between, just scrappy, & all the blocks sewn together, then some simple strip type borders added, & I really liked it, so here I am, playing with them now too! Fell in love with a Double Wed. Ring one too, only 4 rings, in shades of mauves, & some pinks, maybe, then a lovely creme fabric background, so may play with that idea later too. So many ideas out there to play with & try, it never ends, & thank goodness for that!

Easy block, my first time doing this kind of block & it went together so easy, love it!



This one went great till you connect the base & the bouquet, that was a bit tricky, but it's done & it's a keeper, & as near to perfect as it's going to get! Love the fabric combos, tried to make them similiar to my wedding colors..



Another easy block, nice soft colors, went together well...

Last Two of 7 New Ones..

I guess it only does 5 at a time on here, so here is the last 2 in this bunch. Brings my total to 57 now, & am working towards the halfway mark of 70! Enjoying the journey!
